Hi! This is just a one shot… 'cause I got other stories happening too! Here ya go!
Disclaimer: I hate these… so I make them mini stories! except this is a one shot…. I don't own PJO! Ugh. I may as well have drunk poison.
Melody's POV
As the youngest child in camp, I'm treated differently. This daughter of Athena deserves to be treated like everyone else, not like the eight year old I am.
No one lets me fight. I can't play capture the flag, I can train much, and I can't climb the rock wall! Nobody lets me step within a foot of the woods, hoping to keep the 'little one' safe from harm.
But I can do so much more! I could fight if the campers and Chiron would let me! I could walk through the forest without getting attacked! I could climb the rock wall! I could play capture the flag! Dang, I'm so smart I could carve a marble statue!
But everyone says, "No, you're too young"… Blah blah blah! I don't care!
I couldn't stand it anymore. I walked over to the Hermes cabin, the only cabin that let me do fun stuff. I knocked, and Travis opened the door.
"Hey Mel, you need anything?" He asked me, treating me like a little kid again.
"I need a knife stolen from the Hephaestus kids. A real one." I asked. Travis smiled his famous evil grin.
"Anything for my favorite eight year old. Be back in a flash!" Travis jumped off the deck and dashed over to the tall workshop cabin. I sat down on one of the porch chairs and watched as campers fought in the distance. I sighed. I didn't get mad or cry, 'cause it was my turn now. I was gonna have the time of my life!
Travis dashed back to his cabin, a dagger in his hand.
"Thanks Travis. I owe you one."
"Anytime." Travis said, handing me the weapon. It felt perfect in my hand. Travis walked back into his cabin, and I ran into the woods.
The shadows passed over me, hiding me from the eyes of campers. I darted through the forest, weed whacking the bushes and jumping behind trees whenever a camper came jogging by.
I ran as far as I could, up the river. Soon I found the stream. I sat down on a rock on the river bank and looked up at Apollo, riding his chariot across the sky.
I loved it in the forest. Everything seemed so peaceful. The sky was blue as the Pacific ocean, the moss that covered the ground was green as the Amazon rainforest. I felt at peace. I wondered why the campers were so afraid. all they had to do was relax, and the peace would fill them.
I felt bad for the people who never felt this kind of peace. Maybe, just maybe, I could stay here for eternity. Aw, this is Elysium!
I know this is short, but it is a one shot! Please review!
