Saturday Morning Bubbles
Josie dreamed that Alan was kissing her, his tongue running over her face like sandpaper. Wait, sandpaper? That doesn't sound right. She slowly opened her eyes to see her wonderful, darling, soon to be dead cat, pawing at her lip and licking her nose.
"Ace!" she lightly pushed the tiny long-haired gray kitten off of her chest.
Ace mewed softly as if to say "Good morning Mommy." Josie glared down at the kitten and sighed softly. Of all the dreams to interrupt, he had to interrupt THAT dream. Why not the one about the clowns? That would have been a welcome interruption, but it had to be the one starring the sexiest guy in Riverdale. She sighed again.
It was a Saturday morning, and silence filled the house. Well, silence filled the house until Melody screamed. Josie quickly stood up and grabbed Ace, running to the living room, grabbing her wrench in the process. She stumbled over a pile of clothing, banged into the door and nearly lost her balance before she even left the room. She skidded to a halt once she reached the living room to find a sniffle-y Val and a shocked look on Mel's face. She raised an eyebrow, but then she noticed a brown spot on Mel's pants and an empty coffee mug.
"What happened in here?" She asked, eyeing her friends suspiciously.
"Well, I kind of had a klutzy moment..." Melody stated, looking for something to wipe up the mess. " I, kind of, knocked Val's hot cocoa over." She giggled in the ridiculous way that only the girls could find amusing.
Starr walked up to Val, rubbing against her legs. Josie laughed at the thought that had crossed her mind.
"What?" Val asked, as she pet Starr's tiny gray head. "What's so funny?"
"Well, you know, that cat just got farther than your last boyfriend did." Josie laughed a little at her own private joke. However, she stopped laughing when a pillow made contact with her forehead.
"Ha ha ha.. At least I had a boyfriend. When's the last time you had a boyfriend? I mean, unless you want to count Albert, the one who dumped you because you are in love with.. "Val stated, sniffling slightly.
Just as Josie was about to respond, Alan walked through the door, in time to hear Val say "Almmph"..
"What was that? Who does Josie love?" He laughed as he walked to the living room, though he was secretly plotting the death of the guy.
Josie flushed a light shade of pink and removed her hand from Val's mouth.
"Uh, no one" Josie said quickly, turning a deeper shade of pink. Suddenly the image of Alan from her dream popped into her head. "Stop it." She mumbled to herself.
"What was that?" Alan asked, amused with Josie's behavior. Then suddenly the dream he had that morning popped into his head. Damn it, Josie get out of his head!
