Crystal awoke to her mother lapping at her ear. "Mother! Stop!" she mewed, swiping a paw over her ear to smooth her fur down. "Sorry, honey, but you need cleaning!" her mother, Moon, replied. As Moon bent down to give her daughter another through cleaning, two other kits tumbled in between them, swatting at each other with claws sheathed on the cold, shining floor. "Get off me!" hissed the brown tabby she-cat, Rock. "You started it!" spat the other brown she-cat, Hawk. "Girls! Break it up!" scolded Moon as she pulled them apart. "Awww! But Mom! We were just playing!" whined Hawk. Before Moon could say anymore, mews came from a cage across the room. "Psst! Crystal! Over here!" mewed Dawn, an orange tabby she-cat. Since Crystal was dying to get away from her annoying mother, she glanced around to see if any Twolegs were near, and then leaped through the holes onto the slick floor. Then she jumped into cage with Dawn. "Hi!" squeaked Purple, her black coat shining. Behind her stood Snow, the runt, crouching behind her sister. Dawn opened her mouth to speak when their mother, Sun, looked at Crystal with narrowed eyes. "Go back to your mother's cage. The Twoleg will be here any minute." So Crystal went back to her cage and sure enough, the Twoleg walked in the door. He had a shiny, sharp thing in his hand as he walked to Sun's cage. He took off the roof of it and reached in to grab Snow. She mewed desperately as the Twoleg raised the shiny thing to her throught. But then, at the same time, Moon and Sun leaped at the Twoleg, claws unsheathed. "RUN!" screamed Sun as she clawed the Twoleg. Snow leaped from the Twoleg's hand, and then her sisters followed. When Hawk leaped out of Moon's cage to follow, Rock and Crystal came too. As they ran out the door, Moon called, "RazorClan!" And then a screech came from behind them. "Moon!" screamed Crystal, stopping in her tracks.
