Unlike Sirius, Remus could be very romantic, when he wanted to be of course. Usually Sirius would make fun of his idea of romance, but he would always show him different later on in the night.
This year for Valentines Day Remus wanted to do something different, something that would surprise his lover for once.
So, here it was, the day before the most horrible commercial holiday ever and a certain Mr. Lupin couldn't think of anything to get him. He went to his last resort gift. A dog collar with studs and small spikes, (small enough to not stab him) a slab of Honeydukes special Valentine chocolate and a very secret special gift.
Later that evening, as Sirius lay in front of a roaring fire, Remus walked up beside him and sat next to him.
"So Moony, what do you have planned for tomorrow?" Sirius asked lying on his belly with his eyes locked on Remus. "I know you have something planned, you always do."
"Actually I do, but you're getting your present tonight instead of tomorrow, to make it more special."
"Oh really, well lets have it," Sirius closed his eyes.
"I can't exactly give it to you here." Remus winked. "Or maybe I could; if you like that sort of thing."
Sirius quickly opened his eyes, "What the..?"
Remus just smiled. He knew exactly what he was doing and he thought it would be the best present Sirius had ever received… would ever receive.
"I can give you two of your presents here but I have to give you your other one upstairs."
"Oh… OHH!" Sirius finally caught on. "Remus, wouldn't it be your first..."
"Yes. I know it will be your first time too."
Sirius' face reddened as he started to speak, but couldn't. He took a deep breath, sat up and tried again. "Well... umm what're my first two gifts?" he asked, holding his lightly shaking hands.
"Here in this bag, you will like them."
Remus handled him a medium sized bag that was covered with red glitter and had been sitting behind his back. The top was tied with a tiny white ribbon that dangled on each side of the bag. As Sirius pulled the ribbon out of the tie and looked inside, a great smile formed on his lips.
"Do you like them?"
"Ah Moony... I love them," Sirius said, as he held the dog collar in his hands.
"That is to be included with your other present," Remus said smiling a sly smile.
"Damn Moony! When did you become... become... like me?" Sirius asked, fastening his present around his neck.
"Well, I'm around you enough; I just picked up a few things," Remus confirmed, as he grabbed his lover's hand.
"Off to discover the great unknown upstairs?"
"Yes," Remus murmured as he kissed Sirius' forehead.
They stood and went upstairs to experience the best Valentines Day ever.
