He's a vampire
she knows she shouldn't fall for him
he's dangerous
but so irresistible.

His sweet smile draws her in
she can't see anything but the brightness
he lures her towards him
& makes her realise that she loves him.

She ought not to love him
after all, he could kill her at any time
but something about the danger draws her in
in spite of everything, she's only human.

Death, death, death
that's all he is good for, they say
he kills everyone he is close to
look at his last girlfriend, the machine…
…
But she trusts him
he wouldn't hurt her – she thinks
she knows he loves her back
but how does she show that she loves him?

She thinks he's sweet but then
then he goes and proves he's a vampire
he kills someone, threatens her
shows his fangs to her.

In those moments, she realises something
she realises she's in over her head
that she doesn't know which way is up
and if she can even get out…

But, for the most part, she loves him
her eccentric boss
the adorable one with the cute smile
the one who loves the sciences.

Can she trust him?
that's the question she asks herself every night
can she be with him?
but she doesn't answer them…

Why?
because the answersscare her
she doesn't know if she can or not
and the risk is too great
after all, it's her life.

He features in her dreams every night
she imagines to kiss him
imagines how it would be to be with him
but then she wakes up.

She goes back to reality
where she is the apprentice and he the master
and knows, in her heart, that they aren't for each other
that he's a vampire…

And she's a human
low on the food scale
and doesn't register in his heart.
