The Great Maze Chall/Comp: You look up to the stars in the sky and remember someone who's also named after the stars.
Rose crept downstairs, quietly sneaking out the back door and sitting down on the stone steps. She ignored the cold icy feel under her, letting out a sigh that came in a white smoke bubble in front of her, the frosty air chilling her slightly.
It was tomorrow; he'd be home tomorrow.
The stars were shining brightly tonight, millions of them scattered across the dark navy sky. Rose had always been glad that they didn't live in a city, it would spoil the beautiful view at night, all the city lights interfering.
Rose let out a sigh, rubbing her hands together. Her mind would refuse to get any sleep, not when it knew exactly what tomorrow signified. It meant change. Rose just wasn't sure what kind of change. It had been four months since she'd last seen him.
His grey eyes; sparkled with amusement and humor, the blonde hair that always fell into his eyes, he complained about it constantly. Rose wondered if he'd had a haircut recently, as his hair had got long when he'd left months ago.
Lightly, she pressed her hand against cold stone steps, her finger tracing a message silently on the icy frost covered surface. Rose hoped she found the courage to say the words tomorrow.
For a few moment, she only stared at the faint words, so lightly written but they seemed to scream up at her. Rose only saw them as a flashing neon sign, taunting her. She still had never said the words aloud. How could she possibly say it to his face?
Rose looked up, staring into the dark sky above her, admiring the beautiful view for a while before she finally pushed herself up and back into the house, just as quietly as she'd come out. Rose crawled into her bed, prayed for sleep to come, if only for a few hours.
Outside, still visible on the cold steps, were the words she hoped left her tomorrow.
I love you Scorpius
