Louise woke up groggy in her bed. The light was always so harsh in the morning. She heard the door open and close again. She knew Linda was coming in again, but it felt like it was too early in the morning for her shenanigans.

"Good morning sunshine, today is going to be better than yesterday!" She always said that in that same stupid sing-songy tone. Everyday was the same to her. Boring and uneventful. She rolled over to face away from Linda, then promptly fell off the bed. Letting out a small yelp she grabbed her bunny ears and put them back on her head while rubbing her nose.

"Oh my goodness are you okay Louise?" Linda called out and ran over to her to make sure nothing was bleeding.

"I'm fine, just let me get back on the bed."

"Uh oh, looks like someone's having a bad morning." Linda said. Louise rolled her eyes and rubbed the sleep out of them. "Alright time for your medication, sweetie." Linda said as gingerly as possible.

"NOOOOOO! YOU CAN'T MAKE ME!" Louise started flailing around on the bed, the other nurse Bob came in and had to sedate her again. Louise didn't want to sleep anymore, they just made her tired all the time.

"Louise, you need to calm down or else we'll have to take you to solitary again." The deep voice said, bob was the nicer of the two. He didn't give her anything unless she got out of hand. She looked over at Tina, her roommate, who was just staring at her again. As usual her little brother Gene was here. He was hiding from Louise, he thought she was going to hurt him again.
"Don't look at me four eyes, you or your retarded brother. I don't need your sass or your judgement. And you two!" she looked at the nurses and pointed at them, "Don't wake me up from my nap again." Louise tried to be as forceful as possible while the medication was kicking in. They just looked at her and nodded, different day, same crazy.

Tomorrow was Louise's birthday though. She thought about how she wanted to be out of the hospital and back at her home, at her old job as a chef in a burger joint. She laughed to herself; the only thing she knew would happen was her weekly appointment with her therapist Mr. Frond. With that thought, she curled up on her bed and cried herself to sleep again.
