B-03 Kid Flash
He swears that the zeta tube sounded just like Fartemis, but whenever he brought it up Dick just looks at him like he's crazy. Finishing off the rest of his granola bar he swings his arms up and shoots it at the trash can. The wrapper makes it about half of the way there before floating mockingly to the ground, grumbling to himself he speeds over and throws it away.
Another burst of speed and he's in the kitchen. A familiar back is hunched over the counter, legs looped around the stool, shoulders slumped and hood pulled over his head. A sense of wrongness shoots through him. Dick looks up when he enters eyes forlorn and impossibly blue without his glasses. Dick's has never been able to hide his emotions well, his eyes far too telling, Wally like to think that's why Bruce always has him cover them up.
Walking , not speeding, Wally rummages around the cabinets, gathering supplies. Turning on the stove and preparing the burger patties, Dick's eyes trailing after him as he bustles around the kitchen. Humming softly to himself, a sweet familiar tune, slipping in a couple of the lyrics as he fries up the burgers.
" . . . My sunshine, my only sunshine . . . when skies are grey."
Gaining volume as the burgers sizzle pleasantly, he belts out the next verse, adding cheese and tomatoes to Dick's burger and mayo and pickles to his.
Swaying hips ridiculously to the tune, he hears Dick let out a soft giggle, sweet and small, it's all the encouragement Wally needs. Dishing out two plates he loads the burgers and, spinning in a gangly and awkward version of a pirouette he leans into Dick's hoodie, smiling at the wide eyes and when he pulls his face back in surprise. Placing the burgers on the counter without moving his face an inch, Wally kisses Dick softly, singing the last verse into his lips.
You'll never know dear how much I love you, please don't take my sunshine away.
