Her smile, her laugh, that twinkle in her eye she got when she was truly happy. All of those things about her made him happy, made him want to take a hold of her and never let go. But those smiles and laughs didn't belong to him. Not at all. And it made him angry at the thought of her liking, being in love with, some one else. Her heart belonged not to him, but the enemy. In fact, he believed that it was the red haired one she adored.
They shouldn't even be together, for a number of reasons, he realized. For one, he was an exorcist, she, a Noah. Possibly a reason just as big as that, that red haired boy was a Bookman. As far as he knew, Bookmen weren't supposed to have relations with anybody.
Something that possibly peeved him of more, or at least just as much, was how his own relationship with her was. He, for lack of a better word, loved her. All she saw him as was a friend. He never got the same reaction from her as the exorcist boy did. Her laughs and smiles towards him were filled with humor, not love.
All of it sickened him.
But of course, it didn't stop him from loving her, not in the least. This was surely the reason why he was standing outside of her bedroom door. His hand was frozen just above the nob. He was hesitating; unsure if he should be doing this. She would surely hate him after this if he went through with his plan. Slowly, he opened the door. She stirred slightly, awaking when the light from the hall hit her face.
"Devit?" she questioned.
He didn't answer. The only thing he did was shut the door and walk over to her. Tonight was his night, and even if she ended up hating him. Tonight he was going to make her scream his name in ecstasy instead of that filthy exorcist's.
In the end, it was worth it.
