"Clara's gone, then?" Jenny asked as she entered the room.

"Yes, my dear." Vastra replied, turning around to face her wife.

The human girl sighed and folded her arms. "Do you think they'll be alright?"

The Silurian gave a weak smile. "I'm sure. Maybe not straight away, but soon enough." Vastra stared at the floor and fiddled with the cuffs of her sleeves.

"Are you alright?" Jenny asked, walking over and placing a hand on Vastra's cheek.

"I'm fine, Jenny." Vastra muttered sharply.

The younger woman gave a skeptical look.

"What?"

"I know when you're lyin' to me so don't even try!" Jenny moved her hand to her wife's and stared deeply into her eyes. "What's wrong, darlin'?"

There was a pause for a second. "Do you promise me you won't laugh?"

Jenny nodded and guided her wife to a seat.

"Seeing the dinosaur... Burn like that... It just, it..." The Silurian's voice trailed off.

Jenny smiled sympathetically. "It's alright, Vastra."

"It reminded me of seeing my sisters die." Vastra whispered. "I couldn't help them. I couldn't do anything. I'm so... So... Useless."

"It wasn't your fault."

"You weren't there!" Vastra shouted angrily, pulling away from Jenny.

"What's the point in blamin' yourself?" Jenny said quietly, a little hurt.

The Silurian, sensing the hurt in her wife's voice, turned back towards her placed a kiss on her head. "I'm sorry."

The younger woman smiled at the kiss. "You're not useless, Vastra. Think of all the cases you've solved. All the people you've helped." She blushed scarlet and looked at the floor. "You saved me when we first met, and many times after that."

Vastra brushed a hand through Jenny's hair.

"My dear, we saved each other."
