My first Caskett fic. My first fic in english. So be good, ok?
:)
There was dust everywhere. Cops were coughing and people scared with the power of the explosion.
"Is anyone hurt?" Captain Peterson asked, concerned about his team.
"Minor injuries sir, no one is deadly wounded." replied a Sergeant somewhere in the middle of the dusty cloud.
"Assemble a team, let's go inside. We have to see what happened there."
"Yes, sir!"
"Detective Beckett?" Kate didn't answer. Her mind has been shut off for a long and terrifying minute. "Detective Beckett?" Captain Peterson spoke a little louder and took Kate out of her horrible thoughts.
"Yea… Yeah, sir?"
"We are assembling a team to go inside the bank. Do you want to come with us?"
"Absolutely, sir!"
"Ok, be ready in two minutes."
"Yes, sir!"
Kate ran to her car to get her vest and to try to calm down. But her mind was playing the worst scenarios and all of them involving a very dead Castle in her way.
"He can't be dead. He can't be!" She spoke to herself as though to reassure her senses that the worst hadn't happened. "He'll be alright. Everyone will be alright. This was just an accident, he can't be dead. They can't be dead."
Kate was starting to feel tears forming behind her eyes. She couldn't surrender to her fear, her worst fear. Just a few hours before Castle asked her if she needed him. At first she thought he was talking about all this strange situation they are in, but then he was just bored and willing to do something else than to be trapped in a bank with his mother.
But now, she was strangely feeling the weight of his words.
She was the one who needed him. In all the mess that her life had become since her mother's death, Rick Castle was the only stable thing in her life. His books helped her, saved her in a way she would never forget nor admit to him. And when he started working with her, she had the chance to know her favorite author in a way she never knew she would. And then, sometime later, she was simply in love with him.
The realization of this feeling, took her by surprise precisely in last Christmas. She spent time with her dad, but mostly sat on her apartment wondering how on earth had she fallen in love with Richard Castle. Since then, she's been fighting it hard, denying the obvious and turning her back on her own feelings. But it was useless with him by her side almost every day, charming her senses with his good humored temper, calming her fears with his reassurance that everything would be alright in the end.
Then came the shooting.
His confession.
Her memories.
Everything.
"Please, be ok Castle," she whispered. "Please, don't leave me now. I need you."
She sighed and went back to the bank. The SWAT team was ready and in a second she was inside the dusted place, calling his name.
"Castle!" No response.
"Castle!" Nothing.
"Castle!"
"Beckett?"
When Kate saw him, when he waved to her, a relieved look in his face, she let herself relax and enjoy the fact that he was alive. Very much alive.
"Here we go. You ready?" She freed his hands, and her hand flew in its own accord to his collar, folding it. She felt she could kiss him right there and then. She could see in his eyes the love he had confessed a few months before, and somehow she was sure he could see that a piece of the wall had been broken, because in that moment the only thing that mattered to Kate Beckett was the fact that Rick Castle was alive and if it depended on her only, he would never, ever leave her side again.
Plus, comment are love and I highly appreciate them.
Thanks a lot for giving my fic a little of your time. ^_^
