Just a 2 AM drabble. I'm doing a bigger Outsider's writing thing, so look for it, babe.

I don't own the Outsiders. Get over it.

When Johnny had seen the fire, he hadn't thought.

He'd just ran for the kids immediately, breaking in to get them.

He didn't understand why, really, when he gave Ponyboy the kids, even swearing when they wouldn't come.

Didn't really notice the fire either, which he guessed, was kinda bad.

But it was worth it.

He knew it.

And, though it would break everyone's heart, he'd do it again.

He would.

Just maybe...do it better.

Yeah. Better.

Because we all loved Johnny and deep down wished he could've lived.
