"She gave it away," Puck solemnly whispered while looking at the floor. Everyone looked up from their seats in the chairs (minus Rachel, who was probably making googly-eyes with that douche from Vocal Adrenaline) and said nothing. The other members of New Directions snuck glances at each other, each person wondering whether they had heard it right.

It seemed only Mr. Schue had the ability to speak. "What was that, Puck?" Puck took a deep breath and continued focusing his eyes on the floor, willing himself not to cry. He'd be damned if he cried in front of them. "She gave up the baby," he whispered again, though slightly louder with just a hint of the pent-up sadness he was keeping inside. The members of New Directions stood up and surrounded him. Mr. Schue wrapped his arms around him in a caring, manly embrace. It was then that he lost it.

The tears began to pour from his eyes before he could will them away. He wasn't just crying for the baby girl, his baby girl. He was crying because of his father. Was this how it felt like? To be held and comforted by your father? Puck also wondered how his father could have left his family like that. Puck sure as hell didn't want to give up his baby girl, but he had no choice. He felt the other members resting their hands on him, smiling gently at him. Finn even put his hand on his back and whispered "It'll be ok, man."

He might still be broken. He might still be hurting. But he loves his little girl, and she deserves a life that's amazing. A life that he couldn't provide. So he knows he did the right thing, even if it he feels like hell for it.

Goodbye, baby Beth. Your daddy loves you.
