Never alone

The sun rose above them, casting a lovely acacia glow. Aang loved that particular shade of yellow since it reminded him of home.

The Avatar did love adventuring around the world with his friends. It was his carefree go-with-the-flow attitude. As long as he had Appa and now Momo, he was "home". His friends were an added bonus.

He did, however, miss his people. It sickened him how they were all killed due to his fears. He should be the one who was dead, not them.

Aang had these thoughts a lot, but wouldn't the Fire Nation just move onto the next Avatar and dispose of them? Would the slaughter have ended?

The Avatar knew for certain that he would defeat the Fire Lord. That would stop everything and he could rebuild everything.

Aang looked up at the sky and admired the ever-growing glimmer of acacia. The faces of all the loved ones that he lost started to fill his vision. He would do this for them. He would claim back their homes and start another generation of Air Nomads.

By the end of this he wouldn't be the "Last Airbender" anymore. They were all with him today when he fought Ozai. He wouldn't be alone.
