A/N. Almost got all the Ghosthropologist obsession out of me. But I do at least want to see some brother/sister like interaction out of Miles/Charlotte (based on the "fantastic four" observations).

I don't own LOST. If I did Miles would have gotten more time in the finale.

Supposed To

Charlotte was supposed to be in love with Daniel Faraday. It was the logical choice. He had feelings for her. He was the smartest man she'd ever met (yet ever so adorably clueless about women). They both had extensive education at the same institution. They both even looked good together... even she could tell that much.
She was supposed to have learnt by this time in her life to always go for the nice guys instead of the tough guys, to always go for the perfect choice, the logical choice.
But Charlotte Lewis wasn't perfect... and she almost never did what she was supposed to do.

There was nothing logical about Miles Straume. He did things on instinct not thought. He didn't have a puppy dog crush on her (actually it was like pulling teeth to get at anything beyond the surface with him). They had nothing in common, save for the mission they were recruited to do. Heck! They didn't even look good together.

But Charlotte was sick of logic, she was sick of perfection, she was sick of "supposed to"'s. She might have had one shot to leave and she stayed on the island.
She was sick of being the little girl with red hair that no one told anything to. Her family was full of secrets and lies. Miles thrived on secrets and lies, feeding off them like a parasite, his whole living was made off secrets and lies.

She wanted to be part of his world. She wanted to know what made this island tick. She didn't want the life she was supposed to have. She didn't want to fall back into old patterns.

"I'm going to go exploring. Want to come?" She asked, throwing him a gun.

"I thought we weren't supposed to go off from the group" Miles mimicked what some of the other residents of island had told him, not that he cared what they thought, but just because he found it amusing.

Charlotte winked at him. "I thought you'd know me by now Miles. I'm not the type to do what I'm supposed to."

Review to let me know if I'm winning you over to this ship - or not.
