Prologue:

The sun was about to set in the distance, creating an array of colors from orange to red to yellow in the sky. The waves of the ocean gradually getting aggressive as each passing wave crashes to the shore like there was no tomorrow.

Suddenly out in the distance a girl pops her head out of the waters. She took a look around before swimming closer to the shore. However, before she could reach the shore, a boy comes running from the beach. Sand flying everywhere as the boy dashes towards the waves, a gigantic board in hand. The girl gasps before hiding behind a nearby rock.

The boy quickly threw the board into the water and jumps on top of it himself, but before he could even a take a second to look up a wave was already crashing on top of him. The girl gasped, frantically looking around for the boy, hoping he would soon resurface. But all that came back up was his oversize board.

Taking a deep breath, she quickly dives in after the boy, hoping she wasn't too late. She finally finds him slowly floating to the bottom of the ocean. Diving after him, she grasps his shoulders, grunting as she pulls him up towards the surface and onto the shore.

In the moon's light, the girl took a better look at the boy. He had shiny blonde hair. It looked so soft, she wanted to touch it, but the boy suddenly woke up coughing, startling her as she scoots back. The breath in her throat hitched as he turned his head to look at her. He had these beautiful chocolate brown eyes.

The boy looked at the girl, a little daze. She had light brown wavy hair. Her hair had tints of gold highlights. She had these adorable childish brown eyes. He couldn't stop looking at her. Her cheeks looked so soft and he was about to place his hand on her cheek, when she back up a bit, her eyes widening, before quickly asking, "Are you okay?"

He placed his hand down, feeling the blood rush to his face, before stuttering out, "Ye…yeah. I'm okay." He turns his face away, but when he turned back to look at the girl, he saw her retreating figure and… her tail.

But before he could process all of this, he quickly ran after her screaming, "Wait! Let me help you!" She stopped and turned around. He ran up to her and wrapped his arms around her waist, before trying to pick her up.

Shocked, the poor girl began struggling, but stopped as she heard him whisper into her ear, "I just want to help." Her cheeks turned a bright red before allowing him to continue. The little blonde boy couldn't help but smirked at this before continuing to carry her into the waters.

When they were finally in the waters, the boy watch as the girl quickly dived into the water. He stood there hoping she would resurface so he could take one last look at her. He was about to run back, but then he saw her resurface.

She's floating in the water, watching as he shyly lifts his hands up to wave at her, before quickly running back to shore. She gives him a smile as he turns around to take one last look at her from the sandy shore. She waves to him, before going under the crashing wave.
