Full Summary:
Sarah Knight has become a doctor to fulfill what Lucy was not able to do. Now, as she enters her third year and starts her internship at County General, she will have to face everyone that her sister worked for and with. How will everyone react to hearing her name? Will she even tell them her last name or just use her first name? And how will she feel working with everyone that knew her sister? Will she be welcomed?
Sarah Knight:
Lucy had talked constantly of John Carter, Kerri Weaver, Susan Lewis, Ching-Mae, and the rest of the nurses and doctors at County General. I being her only sister and being eighteen at the time of her death and in the last year of high school, had told her I would do anything to make her and our mother proud. You see, I was the problem child and Lucy was the prodigal child. I would never amount to anything in our mother's eyes and Lucy would amount to everything.
But when Lucy was killed I decided to go into Medical School to follow the path Lucy was never able to finish. I kept a picture of the two of us together with one of our dogs taped to my main notebook at all times. The same picture was what I used as a screensaver on my laptop. She and I were always sisters and friends no matter what went on in the family.
I had made it through to my second year without anyone making a connection between Lucy & me. That would all change when I got a match letter to County General and found out that most of the doctors that knew Lucy still worked there. I was screwed. Oh well, I would just tell them to call me Sarah, since nobody ever used my last name anyways. Telling my mother which hospital I was matched with was going to be the hardest.
Oh well, here goes nothing. My first day at County General starts tomorrow and I know I'll have a lot of explaining to do.
