Lost and Found

It was a cold and windy day in Chicago, and Abby Lockhart was waiting at the station for the El to take her to work.

"It is soo cold today Luka," Abby moaned wrapping herself tightly in her coat.

Luka Kovac grinned wide and replied, "you think this is cold Abby, this is nothing compared to back home."

Abby gave Luka the evil eye, "well I'm not made for cold like you Luka," then Abby slid up to Luka and her fingers teased the lapels of his jacket, and blinked her eyes owlishly at him and smirked. "So the least you could do is warm me up."

"Oh I could, could I?" Luka smiled and wrapped Abby in his arms. "It will be my pleasure." And he kissed her.

Abby could drown in his kisses, he's so passionate, so loving. She couldn't believe she ever let him get away, but she confused her feelings of friendship for John Carter for romantic ones. That didn't turn out so well, all that did was hurt all three of them.

Luka held Abby tighter, he always loved the feel of her in his arms. He hated those years apart seeing his worst fears realized when she and Carter got together, then seeing them fight and Abby hurt. He let her go because he thought she belonged with Carter and he would make her happy, how wrong he was but now he would never let her go again.

Abby smiled as the kiss broke, looking into Luka's sparkling eyes. "I love you." She whispered.

Luka's heart soared as it always did when she told him of her love, which wasn't often but meant more to him than anything as he knew she wouldn't say it if she didn't mean it. He brushed a few tendrils of hair from her beautiful face, "I love you too."

Abby smiled and out the corner of her eye saw the El pull up, she grabbed Luka's hand and walked with him on to the train and they took a seat, Luka's arm securely wrapped around her shoulders and she took comfort from his warmth as the train begun to move.

If any passengers were to look upon them they would not seem out of the ordinary, a man in love with his girlfriend, she in love with him. What they did not know is the trials and tribulations that would go into their relationship. The fights, the accusations, the jealousy, the break up and seeing other people while the others heart broke.

But they eventually put aside the hurt and talked and realised what those who knew them had known all along, that they belonged together. And they have never been happier, sharing in a love they thought lost but was only waiting for the moment they would be ready and willing to accept eachother again.

Who needs any more proof then Luka's smile as he looks upon Abby, the smile of love.

The End
