Disclamer: The idea came from onoM's Plot Bunny story, and the dialogue is straight from it. I take no claim to the dialogue or Harry Potter.
Bloody and battered, the moonlight shown across the thick, oozing liquid upon his sword. Jammed into the ground, he stood up, using the sword as his crutch. Moving slowly towards his destiny, the words that went from his mouth were unheard to none:
"I can't remember the day I lost my innocence."
A step. He pulled the sword forwards once more to help him move forward.
"Innocence, what a strange word, but to me it was important: it was my secret, quiet joy that filled my waking minutes and waited impatiently beside me while I slept, blissfully unaware of the cruel vicissitudes of fate."
As his steel boot pushed him forwards once more, cough came from him. The ground that was once a sturdy brown had been tainted with the crimson color of blood.
"I was so full of life…"
His destiny, still breathing, gasping for air as he tried to move his arm. In minute horror, he felt his nerve endings flare up in pain, yet he could not discern why.
"Now, I only known that whatever happened to me, I'd rather die than allow it to happen to another child."
His destiny watch in increasing horror as the slow movement of death slowly creeped closer and closer…
"It is this drive alone, this fierce determination to protect the world from what I have become, that allows me to face the dread of waking up again."
His destiny finally figured it out. His arm was not hurting, but it was gone; completely erased from existence. He glanced down to see how much closer death had gotten, and began to whisper his final prayers.
"And so, Fate, a toast to you. To the loss of innocence."
Green eyes pierced through the dark night and looked down upon what was to be the final act of death's justice.
"It shall not go unpunished."
And with the moon as the only witness to such an act, the sword swung its last swipe into the neck of one Dark Lord Severus Snape.
