Lessons in Love
She stood in front of him and told him that she couldn't do this anymore. He knew that she was trying to pull away from him, trying to convince both of them that this thing between them had to end. This was the second time she had come to him in an attempt to end their relationship. And at first he had dismissed her ranting, and had been confident that she was not serious. It wasn't until she whispered good bye and had begun walking away that he realized that he was about to lose her.
A part of him knew that what they had couldn't last forever; that sooner or later they would end up on opposing sides in a conflict much bigger than either one of them. But he didn't want to let her go; not after all they went through just to be together. No he fought too hard to gain her affection, too hard to gain her love to simply lose her like this.
"Don't do this." He called out as he caught up to her and gently grabbed her arm to make her turn back to him. "I can't lose you, I … I …" He tried to say the words that would tell her how much he cared about her, how strongly he felt for her, but they refused to come out. He had never said those words before to someone and now he wished he knew how to.
"Ares don't. Don't say something you don't really feel. We both know that war can't love."
She tired to move away but he held on tightly to her arm and pulled her closer to him until her body touched his.
"Then show me how to." He whispered before softly kissing her lips.
