It was Saturday afternoon. The winds were very strong that day. A strong storm was coming. Yet one boy ignored the weather. He was cycling to the gym to practice basketball. The rain started to pour. He looked up to the sky which was starting to be dark.
Then he reached the gym. He grabbed his basketball and walked towards the place. As he gets closer and closer, he heard some dribbling of a ball. There was someone inside.
He opened the door and saw a red-haired boy make a lay-up shot.
The other boy noticed someone looking at him. He turned around and saw a raven-haired boy spinning a ball in his finger.
"What are you doing here, Rukawa?"
"Same reason you are here. Now, why don' you leave so I can practice."
"And why should I leave? I came here first."
"That's right, you have practiced. So now it's my turn to use the gym."
"Well I won't leave!"
"Neither will I."
The two players just starred at each other. They both stand their ground. Moments later Sakuragi sighed.
"Why don't we have a one-on-one game then", he said.
"Are you sure? You know you will lose, anyway."
"What makes you say that. You may be a super rookie but I am tensai. Maybe you're just afraid that I will beat you."
"Okay then, if you insist."
The two then played basketball against each. After a few moments, the two grew tired. However, none of them would like to give up.
Rukawa and Sakuragi were both in deep concentration. Sakuragi is more focus because Rukawa just scored and is leading by 7 points. Rukawa, on the other hand, wouldn't let anyone, especially Sakuragi to beat him.
It was awfully quiet on the gym. The only sound that can be heard is the rain puring outside and the sound of the dribbling of the ball.
The ball is now in possession of Sakuragi. He tried to make a lay-up shot but Rukawa blocked his view. However, he manages to release the ball to the ring.
Unknown to the two players, the storm was getting stronger. Lightings were striking all over the place. A very strong one hit the gym's roof and flowed through the building and into the basketball ring.
The ball that Sakuragi just threw touched the ring but bounced back. Little did they know that some power of the lightning was transformed to the ball.
Rukawa and Sakuragi both jumped to catch the rebound. They both grabbed the ball at the same time.
With that, a great white light filled the gymnasium. Then came a very deafening silence.
After a few moments, the storm stopped. Rukawa and Sakuragi were both laying on the floor, they were unconscious.
The raven-haired boy then moved. He was now awake. He got up but his whole body was sore. He can't recall what just happened. All he can remember was that he was trying to get the rebound from his opponent, Rukawa.
"Ah, I feel so tired. I wonder where that kitsune is. Rukawa! Rukawa!"
The raven-haired boy looked around. He saw another person laying on the floor. He went towards the boy to wake him up.
"Hey Rukawa! Rukawa get up! Rukawa! Ruka…"
"AAAHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"
