Sure they hadn't exactly started off as the best of friends, but as the year progressed and Glee club got even more crap then before the two depended on each other. Plus the tiny little incident with the whole "I have a crush on you, but you said you were in love with Rachel Berry so I through a brick through your 'brand new car that probably cost more than my house' window. Then you announced your presidency for Gaylandotopia and we became the best of friends"
Yeah that tiny little thing.
But eventually all was forgotten and they acted as if nothing had happened
-until he picked Brittany to be his first kiss.

Anyways let's go back to some inner Mercedes angst.
Of course it hurt when she saw them holding hands, or the fact that he kept his arm around her the entire day.
Hell, it hurt a lot!
So as Mercedes walked into the choir room, her head held up high and Kurt-less she barely noticed the fact that the seat next to hers was empty. Alright I lied she didn't barely notice it, she REALY noticed it.
Of course not acting upon it and confronting the gender confused boy she kept quiet and sat down in her seat. Whilst everyone else chatted it up, Mercedes kept hushed. Not much longer Brittany and Butch Kurt walked in, hand in hand.
*Shoots self in face*
The room went dead silent, it happened to be the second time the rest of the glee club had been exposed to this 'new' Kurt, including Mercedes.
And trust me, no one had gotten used to it.
Speaking of which, Mercedes kept her gaze on the two. Actually there wasn't a moment when she wasn't stalking the 'couple' with her eyes. Well for those who haven't seen the actual episode then advise you do so immediately, only because I am skipping over a couple of days.
