"Her name is Anima!" Maka smiled wide, holding a foreign creature in her arms. Crona leaned in uncomfortably close, though Maka was used to it by now. The small thing, unfortunately, was not. It thrashed and whimpered when Crona invaded its space. Maka rocked it gently and shushed it, taking a step back from the curious visitor not out of defense but simply of necessity. Soul shifted nervously behind her.
Crona looked up at Maka through his bangs, trimmed evenly now, without regaining his previous posture, "What is it?"
"'It' is a baby, stupid, and she-" Soul corrected him before being quickly cut off by a glare from his wife.
Maka's face quickly returned to its regular cheery expression. "This is my baby! She was born just last week, so you're lucky to see her awake!" She laughed, and the baby shook with her bosom, her eyes bright and inquisitive just like her mother's.
Crona lifted his face and let his neck roll so his head rested above his shoulder. "Is that why you're not fat anymore?"
Soul let a giggle escape, but swallowed his laughter when Maka shot him a look. She smiled gently back, "Yup. I'm not as slim as I was, but hopefully I can shed those extra pounds I've still got on me."
The visitor was completely fascinated by the baby, but still apprehensive. "It looks like Soul..." Maka blushed, quietly proud. "It's got that same angry expression." She glanced down at Anima. The baby was obviously taking a poop. At this, Maka threw her head back, laughing hysterically.
Soul had no idea what was going on since he didn't see the baby, but his face flushed regardless. "C'mon, Maka, we need to get going," he grumbled, pulling her by the sleeve as he continued to walk down the sidewalk. Maka wiped a tear from her eye, "Oooh, hahah, alright," she waved to Crona with her free hand, "Maybe you can come visit us sometime!" Crona followed them down the sidewalk with his eyes, never turning his head. What a strange thing that was...
