Things Remembered

Dean's footsteps faltered in front of the display. He came to a standstill, gaze roving the colorful display. Lost in thought, he reached out a tentative hand. Before he could grab a card his brother's voice sounded next to him.
"Dean?"
"You remember the Father's Day cards we used to buy for him?"
Belying the grief that flashed in his eyes, Sam smiled. "Yeah. We'd buy him the funniest one we could find just so he'd laugh."
"Anything to get him to laugh sometimes, huh?"
"Yeah and I remember giving you those same kinda cards a time or two myself."
