All hail the heartbreaker.

It's not the pale moon that excites me
That thrills and delights me
Oh no
It's just the nearness of you
It isn't your sweet conversation
That brings this sensation
Oh no
It's just the nearness of you

Akane stood on her balcony thinking. It had been a week. A whole seven days. There had been no crazy schemes. No overzealous fiances barging in at the wrong times. Happosai had been unusually dormant with his underwear thievery and her father and Mr. Saotome had not attempted a crackpot plan to push her and Ranma together.

It was heaven. Never had they been so close to each other as they were now. They had begun meeting on Akane's balcony every night to talk and somehow under the soft light they had become comfortable with each other. Akane found herself spilling her emotions to this boy she had never bothered to talk to. They had talked about a few of their worst fights and had managed to agree on the fact that it was neither of their faults and had apologized without tearing the house into pieces.

Akane jumped as she felt someone jump up onto the railing beside her "on guard?" grinned Ranma. At one point she would have boiled over but now she just feigned an angry look and swatted him on the arm. She watched him lightly blush as her hand trailed down his arm and came to rest in his. They stood there staring at the magnificent sky and Akane couldn't help but hope that these days would never end.

Akane wasn't thinking about how nothing in her life ever lasted. She wasn't thinking about how it was always snatched away from her. She wasn't thinking.
