Power of the Golden Eyes

I walked through the streets of the Fire Nation to see my Great Uncle Iroh.

"Hey guys!" A boy yelled. "It's the Fire Nation water bender!"

"What do you want?" I asked coldly.

I didn't wait for a reply, sending a water whip to knock them down.

"So," I sneered. "Were you going to make fun of me? My eyes, maybe? I mean a water bender with golden eyes? That's such a disgrace to the Fire Nation. Why don't you whine to my daddy? I'm sure Fire Lord Zuko would love to hear what you got to say about his daughter."

I walked closer to them with every word I said, holding my hand out, expecting a ball of water to come. Instead, an orange flame licked my hand. I looked down at it in surprise for a moment, before I threw it. Then, I ran.

"Princess Kanna." The guard said as I neared the meeting room.

"Let me in." I calmly told him.

"Princess Kanna, they're still…." I cut him off.

"Let me in, NOW!" I screamed.

The guard scrambled to open the doors. I quickly slipped through, giving the subjects a glare.

"OUT!" I ordered.

They scurried out of the room, leaving Mother, Father, and myself.

"I can bend fire," I whispered.

"That's impossible." Mother muttered. "A person can't bend two elements, beside the Avatar."

"But I did, Mother." I defended. "Some boys were about to make fun of me, so I sent a water whip at them. Then I started to advance on them. I was hoping to get a ball of water, but instead a flame appeared. Look, I'll show you."

I did a demonstration, having a ball of fire appear at the palm of my hand. My father smiled.

"A fire and water bender!" His smiled widened, "I'll never have to worry about boys!"

"Mai Lee will just bring twice as much home." Katara pointed out.

"I'll tell her to drown them in fire." Zuko replied, turning to me. "You and your sister are the perfect childrenI could ever want. Don't ever forget that." **

I found Mai practicing her fire bending in the garden.

"Can I join?" I asked.

Mai laughed, "You can't fire bend."

I smirked, "Yes I can."

"You can't." Mai laughed. "You're just bluffing."

"I am not!" I screamed.

"Sure." Mai said. "You're a water bender, Kanna. If you show me proof, I'll believe you." She smirked.

I sighed, willing a flame to appear at the palm of my hand. She gawked at my hand, a moment of weakness. I threw the ball at Mai, but she dodged.

"Kanna!" She screamed, using the flame from her dress on me.

I laughed, dodging her throw, running across the garden.

Author's note-

Just a one-shot about Katara's and Zuko's kids, Kanna and Mai Lee. Mai's name is pronounced Mia (Mi-uh) It's spelled that way, Mai and Ty Lee combined. Oh! Don't forget to give Summer (Sun Daughter) a big round of applause. She was the amazing person who did the betaing work.
