Skinny Love
By: LittleVersia
I was lost in the sea of coldness, as a snowflake perched on my left cheek I spotted the Weasleys standing in front of the gate, they were all dressed in black. Weeks have passed since the war, We were victorious but we felt that we lost something more important, It was the lives of people who sacrificed themselves and one of them was Fred happening devastated the Weasleys the most but it had a larger impact on George. I examined George's face I noticed that he was trying to hold back his tears. I felt a heavy burden pushed down on my shoulders.
Mrs. Weasley spotted me and greeted me. "Thank you for coming, dear." as she patted my cheek.
I tried to find my voice but I nodded instead. I took my seat beside Ron, He look at me through his lashes, his eyes were glistening with tears.
"Oh, Ron. I feel awful" I said as I run my thumb across his cheek. Harry knelt in front of Ron and shook his head in disbelief.
"This is all my fault. I caused this to happen." Harry exclaimed.
"Harry, He didn't just die for you but he died for all of us" He replied as he turned his head to Harry then shifted his gaze to me, I held him close to me.
I gazed at the distance and saw a shadow, I couldn't see it clearly because of the snow.
I pulled away from Ron.
"Did you see that, Harry?" I asked.
"What are you talking about? There's nothing there."
I turned back and saw nothing, nothing but snow. I was positive that it wasn't just a fragment of my imagination.
I gave a long, troubled sigh. "Nothing".
Mr. Weasley caught our attention and started the service. Then George stood up and marched in front and started his speech. As soon as it ended Mrs. Weasley couldn't bare with it anymore and started to burst down in tears, Ginny was trying to calm her down. A tear slipped my cheek and I wiped it away quickly.
When the service ended I staggered along the heavy snow and headed towards the direction where I saw the shadow. I took my wand and held it firmly, I heard a sound from the bushes then I the shadow started to run away.
"Stupefy!" I cried, pointing my wand at him.
He was knocked down to the ground, He was breathing heavily with smoke coming out of his mouth. I approached him and examined his blonde hair and pale skin. his face became infuriating as soon as I recognize him.
"Draco? Draco Malfoy." I stiffened.
"Rennervate" I said quietly.
"What are you doing here? I don't suppose yo-"
"Granger, do you think that I wanted all of this?" he sat up and dragged his hand across his face.
"No one does, If you're not here to cause any trouble then why are you here?" I flung back.
"What do you think?" he replied while looking back at the funeral site. He stood up and lowered my wand.
"See you in school, Granger." His eyes flickered at me.
I watched him walk on deep snow. Then he disappeared. I inhaled two sharped breaths and staggered my way back to the funeral site. My brain just couldn't process one logical thought of Draco that over-confident, conceited jerk mourning for Fred.
We were back in Hogwarts, Everything looked like it wasn't destroyed by the war. The smell of the dark damp earth from the large dense forest, The Gryffindor common was still located on the seventh floor in the east wing of the castle. Everything was in tact but I felt that something died along with the Hogwarts that not only me but the others grew up with.
