AN: This is my first fan fiction… I think it shows. T_T I'm a huge Baccano fan, but I haven't seen the show in a month or so, and while I've done my research to avoid "OOC" actions, if you find any actions that are OOC, just leave a review. Whether you love it or hate it, just leave a review, if you have the time. Please, I hope you enjoy.

Also, this chapter is short. This AN, on the other hand, isn't.

I looked around. It was dark, murky, and I had blood all over me. Scars that I didn't even know I had. The smell of a hospital, full of chemicals, was all around me. What's going on? I can't remember how I got here…

A chain was attached to my neck, bound tight. I cried out a little trying to rattle it. What the hell was going on? I heard the faint sounds of chains rattling in the distance. A light was turned on, and I saw a single shadow, moving closer to me. I couldn't make out his face; I could only hear what sounded like… dripping blood. I could only make out… a bloody baseball bat.

Crap.

I struggled to get free, however it was no use. The chains bound me to the floor. I held my head low, and fell to the ground, ready for whatever fate awaited me.

"Hello, X." I looked up to find a surprisingly calm man holding a bloody bat to my face. "Who the hell are you?" I asked. "You don't remember? I'm not surprised." I backed up against the wall. "Why is that I can't remember anything about how I got here? Who are you? And will you get me out of here?" I yelled. "Damn, you ask a lot of questions. I've got reasons. You should keep quiet." His calm demeanor was starting to royally piss me off. "You answer my questions! Why the hell am I so bloody and covered in scars?" I was starting to lose it. "Why should I tell you?" He leaned in close to me. "Honestly, if I had the choice, I wouldn't have done this. But, my family comes first. This baseball bat? It ain't mine. One of my guys had to make a hit, and I gave them some "assistance." It's not my own wish to kill, X." "How do you know my name?" He smirked. "I've got connections. Besides, you've met me before." "When? I don't remember meeting you…. Anyways, get back to the point! Why am I in here?" "You lose your temper too easily X. It will be your downfall someday. And to answer your question, the way, would you happen to remember my name?"I can't remember or see you! How I am supposed to know?"

"It's Luck Ganador. It's one name I don't think you'll forget." He chuckled. Luck started to walk away, but threw the bloody baseball bat. It landed on the ground next to me. "What's this for?" I asked. He looked back at me, almost mocking me. "I'd recommend you use that to end your own life. It will be less painful then what is soon going to happen to you soon."

He left.

I was going to die here.

Alone, in a dark place.

Full of scars and blood to keep my company.

Goodbye, world.
