An addiction to hands and feet
The boys and girls watch each other eat
When they really want to watch each other sleep
Remus felt someone else's shoe tap lightly against his own. Looking opposite him, he saw the newest member of the Order of the Phoenix looking up at him.
"Sorry, Remus", she said with a smile.
He smiled back, holding her gaze. He found himself unable to look away even after she had. He found himself following the motions of her hand as it brushed through her long curly hair and then tapped lightly on the table as she began to talk to Kingsley.
"Remus?" she said to get his attention after her current conversation faded and she had looked back around to Remus only to find him in gazing blankly in her general direction.
"Sorry", he replied quickly, "I'm off in another world"
oOoOoOo
There was a strain of light seeping through the dark curtains despite the early hour of the morning.
Remus watched as Tonks lay, her hands clutching at the blanket, her breaths even and deep. Her toes were just visible from under the blanket, her bright red nail polish appearing dark in the limited light.
Remus was admiring the glinting of her toe ring from the small amount of artificial light that had managed to manoeuvre around the curtain when Tonks turned over and slowly opened her eyes.
"Remus?" she questioned the empty side of the bed that Remus usually occupied, sitting upright when she realised.
"I'm here, Dora", said Remus.
Tonks squinted in the darkness to find her husband sitting in a chair facing her.
"What are you doing? You're not-"
She hesitated for a moment.
"No, Dora. I'm not, ever again. I'm just thinking."
"Come back to bed, Remus", she said smiling and opening the blanket invitingly, "You think too much."
"I'm coming. I much prefer your world.
A/N: Thanks for reading! I imagine the first section to take place early OotP and the second section to take place early(ish) DH when Tonks is pregnant has forgiven Remus for leaving her after he found out that she was pregnant but is kind of paranoid about him leaving again. The lyrics are from Dance Anthem of the 80's by Regina Spektor.
You can find another Regina Spektor songfic on my page called Leaves become most beautiful (When they're about to die) which I personally think is better than this one.
Reviews make me smile :)
