Hiroki stared into it's narrow, yellow eyes, it stared back. It meowed, he yawned. Hiroki's eyes slipped shut and his face rested on the couch, breathing softly, the cat curled up on Hiroki's back, creating a comforting weight.

Nowaki came home as quietly as he could, Hiroki still woke up. "Nowaki," he said, "I'm cold."

"Hiro-san," said gently, "Maybe you could go to bed instead of waiting up for me every night, at least then, you might not catch a cold."

Hiroki blinked sleepily at Nowaki, where was that soft warmth on his back?

"Meow," the missing cat said.

"Hiro-san, is that a cat?"

"No, it's a bunny rabbit!" Hiroki snapped irritably, he'd woken up a bit more and was more prone to making snappish comments.

"Awww, Hiro-san, you picked up this cute kitty on the streets? Didn't you?" Nowaki picked the black cat and scratched its head, it purred contentedly.

Tratior, Hiroki thought, and just like a cat too, to ignore the person who cares most for it.

Did anyone else notice that Hiro is just like his kitty friend, who by the way is named the oh so unique name of Neko-chan, yup Nowaki named the cat, "cat".
