Children In War
We are all children in war,
With a new first
From even quenching thirst.
When the dawn begins to rise,
We open our eyes
And scream as our youth dies.
Then noon begins to set,
When our guns fire
At enemies climbing higher.
With the setting dusk,
We can care no more;
We are all children in war.
This is a poem Ponyboy wrote while in Vietnam, since he couldn't find the time to draw. Obviously this is an outtake from my story, Welcome To Vietnam.
