Disclaimer: I do not own Prince of Tennis! (geez, don't rub it in...)
Author's Note: Another one of my poem fics. This is a simple quatrain, inspired by the song, "Black Rain" by Fuji Syusuke. There's no meter, and the rhyme scheme is aabb for each stanza. Please REVIEW, even if it's short, anything! I want feedback! I wrote this for our school magazine, so please tell me what you think!
DECISIVE BATTLE
I face you now with steadfast eyes
As the rains pour down form the dark gray skies
Our long-awaited battle has begun
For us to decide who's number one
My spirit has been reborn anew
To challenge the strength that can only be you
The fluttering birds sense a change in the air
My hands shake with thrill that I never knew was there
I feel a strange, boundless excitement
All my heart is poured onto this final moment
A burning fire versus a raging sea
Such is the battle between you and me
No words are spoken, they need not be said
Our actions say it all instead
The desire to win, the thirst for victory
All pride set aside, along with past glory
The stage is set, here we go
The outcome of this battle, only the two of us know
There is no future, there is no past
Only the present, where we'll fight to the last
