"We gotta go," Nico said groggily.

How long had we been asleep? I shook my head, aware of the curls falling in front of my face, taking in the scenery between the strands of chocolate tendrils. The fall leaves, in their rich warm hues, were blanketing our view of the sky above. A brisk wind swept over the land, spraying leaves in our direction. Nico pulled me in to his embrace so I wouldn't have to get anything thrown in my eyes.

"Thanks," I murmured as he brushed strands of my hair out of my face. His hair was a mess, tangle with leaves and twigs, as was mine. He smiled at me, his pale face suddenly alive with color.

"Any time." He pulled me along with him, up to my feet, and the jacket, his jacket, that was draped around my shoulders started to fall. "Got it," Nico said as the jacket was about to hit the ground below.

We walked along the path in silence until we met up with Nico's sister, Hazel. They talked about something that I thought completely irrelevant, until Hazel asked me what I was doing for Halloween.

"I don't really know. I was just gonna stay in and read, draw, or something that includes me not leaving the roof." Even when I went to mortal school I only had a select group of friends, I didn't go out much, and I wasn't popular enough to be invited to parties.

"Well, I think," Hazel began, "That you should join us for a bonfire at ten. It will be so much fun, I promise!" She was practically begging right now and I couldn't figure out why. I looked at Nico to get an answer but he was looking away, his face bright red. Then I realized I was still wearing his jacket.

"Oh, yeah, I'll come!" I burst out. I didn't want her to think I was being rude. Hazel skipped away, squealing with glee.

"So, um, I gotta, go…" Nico started. I handed him his jacket and kissed him on the cheek.

"Tomorrow at ten," I said. I left him there, a boy I had just met, my boyfriend, absolutely stunned.

As I was on my way to the cabin a girl with blonde hair, gray eyes, and about a thousand battle scars stopped me from walking in.

"What now? Look I'm really tired and-"I stopped right there because of a simple phrase: if looks could kill.

"All new campers need a weapon to arm themselves. It won't take that long, I promise," she informed me, looking pretty tired herself. "Annabeth. My name's Annabeth Jackson."

"Okay, let's go."

She told me her tory, about how she had gotten married to some guy named Percy after she escaped from Tartarus, she had been having these awful dreams, and how she was daughter of Athena.

"So, we're here. We mostly have swords, daggers, bows, and shields, but there are also some guns. Feel free to choose whatever you want."

There was so much to choose from, but I couldn't choose just one. There were a couple of daggers, different sizes, shapes, and materials that caught my eye. I actually thought I could make a custom blade.

I was in the very back, where the light didn't reach. With my free hand, I flicked it and fire spread across it like a wildfire.

"OH MY- is your brother Leo?"

I nodded and continued to gather the three lucky daggers, a strap of grayish colored leather, and a white leather belt. I passed Annabeth without looking twice and headed towards Bunker 9. Forget sleep, this was going to be amazing.
