Prologue

10 years ago;;

A little girl stood in the snow, trying to find her home. 'I'm scared!' was going through her little 5 year old mind as she stumbled across, trying to find her home. As she walked along, she knocked into a guy. "Are you lost little girl?" He asked, as he neared towards her, eyes turning bleeding red and his fangs protruding through his mouth.

As he came closer to her neck, a scream came out of her mouth, as he came closer and closer to her. But a graceful man came by and knocked him out, making him swivel and disappear into almost nothing but a whole heap of dust that blew out in the wind. "You poor thing." he said as he wiped blood from his face and went closer to the girl.

"Are you okay?" he asked, as he lifted his hand to hers, but not too close to scare her. "I'm Kaname." He said, as she neared towards him, but didn't know whether to trust him or not. She nodded, as her brown curls were spilling over her tiny face. He smiled at her and grasped her hand lightly.

Kaname POV;;

How I wished I could hold her, and if she could remember who I was. How I missed my little Yuuki. "Would you like to come with me?" I asked, as I sat her onto my lap. I smiled as she nodded again, a little smile breaking through her face as I hoisted her onto my back and led her to a house. She shivered a little, as I neared the house. "This person will look after you." I said softly as I let her down, and wrapped her in my long jacket.

Yuuki POV;;

That man, that said he was Kaname was nice. I liked him. As he knocked on the door, I glanced at the man wearing a weird kitty apron and glasses. I frowned, and went back to the Kaname.

Normal POV;;

"Hello Kaname." Kaien said, as he glanced down at Yuuki obviously scared of him. He held out his hand to her as she carefully stepped towards him, tentative. "I take it your parents are.." Kaien said again as he tried to go closer to Yuuki. Kaname smiled with a slight frown as he replied, "Yes, unfortunately Rido took their lives." Kaien smiled again at Yuuki and said, "I will keep my promise to Juuri then." Kaname nodded and replied, "Your the only one I can trust her with."

Kaname and Kaien took Yuuki to the kitchen where she was fiddling with a spoon. She tried to comb her hair with it, as Kaien glanced sadly at her. "She doesn't even remember anything." he said, as he got some jelly from the fridge and handed it to Kaname so that he could feed it to her. Kaname smiled, taking the spoon from her hands, and scooped a little, handing it towards her mouth. "Say ahh." he said softly as he was about to put it into her already open mouth.

Yuuki froze, seeing his fangs protruding from his mouth and she reached forward, jelly forgotten and went forward as Kaname opened his mouth a little wider, as she touched his fang. Yuuki instantly went back, scared of him, and backed away frightened that her hero was now what she was scared off. Kaname put down the bowl slowly as he walked backwards, not wanting to scare his dear sister even further. "I guess I'm not helping." Kaname said to Kaien who was fiddling with a couple of bowls and trying to make some soup. "What? Leaving already?" Kaien said, as Kaname was going towards the door. "I'll come and visit you later." Kaname replied to Kaien as they both went to the front door.

"Back to that house?" Kaien said with a wry smile. "You know.." he tried to say. "Yes, I know but in order to protect Yuuki, I will do it." Kaname said as he opened the door and gave Yuuki a little wave. "Byee." he said, as he tried to dash his tears from his eyes as he walked away, his black long trench coat billowing behind him.
