Ginny's P.O.V.

I have always been 'protected' by my brothers. I always hoped there would come a time when they left me alone. I just didn't expect it to be like this. Three of my brothers were no longer attending Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, but another three are.

So here I am sitting in the girls' dormitory for the 2rd years. Everyone else is at the Halloween feast. Why had they just up and abandoned me like that? What gave them the right? So when I want to be alone they hang all over me like drapes, but when I feel so alone they completely ditch.

Maybe it had something to do with what I said to Ron... I never meant it. Normally he would just laugh and screw up my hair, but not this time. This time he almost trampled over Neville who had been leg-locked again by Malfoy. Oh, yeah. That was what I said... oops. Now I remember...

"What were you doing that you got back to the common room at 9:00?" asked Ron.

"None of your business!" I had snapped back at him.

"Watch it Ginny. What were you doing, please tell me." He said more calmly.

"In the library studying." I somewhat told the truth.

"Alone?" Said Ron warily. "You know how I feel about you being alone."

"But I wasn't alone." I spit out without thinking.

"Well then who were you with?" He asked with that look I couldn't stand.

"Okay... Malfoy came up and insulted our family, Hermione's, and Harry's. So I snapped back at him and he got mad and I used magic on him. He was wondering why I was so angry and I told him a lot, almost like venting. And he actually listened." I told him, holding up a hand when he tried to stop me.

"And you couldn't come to me?" He asked hurt.

"No because it was about you too." I explained.

"I'm your brother, why can't you just tell me how you feel." Ron looked sad.

"Because sometimes I think Malfoy would be a better brother than you!" I yelled at him my face turning red and knowing I shouldn't have said it as soon as it left my mouth.

That was when he stormed out. I know what I had to do.

I started the long trek from Gryffindor tower to the Great Hall. As soon as I walked through the large wood doors I felt like all eyes were on me. I walked over to where Harry and Hermione were sitting. That was the closest I could get to where Malfoy was sitting without being at Slytherin table. When all of the eyes averted back to themselves, I stood up tapped Malfoy on the shoulder and as soon as he turned around, I made sure none of the teachers were looking, I punched him square in the jaw.

I sat, this time, next to Ron. I said 'Sorry' and gave him a hug only Weasley's could give.
