Hey I heard this song and I had to write a song fic! It's by Saving Jane, it's called 'Girl Next Door' I don't own anything.
Please read reveiew and enjoy!
Small town homecoming queen She's the star in this scene there's no way to deny she's lovely Perfect skin, perfect hair perfumed hearts everywhere. Tell myself that inside she's ugly.
Poor Gabriella Montez watched as Sharpay walked briskly down the hallway with her entourage of boys and drama students. Furious, Gabby turned to face her locker. Sharpay had been voted homecoming queen last night. Gabby had tried hard to get people to vote for an underdog. But at the sight of that blonde bimbo they immediately switched votes. Gabby should have known, of course, that Sharpay's outer beauty would win over some zit-faced girl with loads more inner beauty. Fighting anger Gabby looked over at the group and gasped. Was that Troy chatting up Sharpay? This was too much. Gabriella slammed her locker shut and ran off to homeroom, rubbing at her eyes and swallonig the self pity that was rising in her throat.
Maybe I'm just jealous, I can't help but hate her. Secretly I wonder if my boyfriend wants to date her She's the prom queen I'm in the marching band She is a cheerleader I'm sitting in the stands She gets the top bunk I'm sleeping on the floor She's Miss America and I'm just the girl next door
Sharpay glared over at Gabriella. Somehow the little snot-nosed braniac got to be class president.
She probably hacked the school computer, Sharpay thought with a grimace. She's probably rigged the election. It was ind of funny how she said in part of her speech she wanted to,'make sure no one's ever the last one standing. Everyone's got a buddy out there!' Then her speech got boring again. God, this little pep girl could talk forever. Sharpay groaned loudly when she saw Gabriella flip another page of her speech. Some nerd in front of her angrily shushed her. Sharpay rolled her eyes. "Whatever", she muttered.
So Gabby was prez, so what? She didn't care. She was homecoming queen, three years running! That was way better than an early acceptance to Harvard, right?
Senior class president she must be heaven sent, She was never the last one standing. A backseat debutaunt, everything that you want. Never too harsh or too demanding. Maybe I'll admit it,I'm a little bitter. Everybody loves her but I just want to hit her.
She is the prom queen I'm on the marching band She is a cheerleader I'm sitting in the stands She gets the top bunk I'm sleeping on the floor She's Miss America and I'm just the girl next door Oh, I'm just the girl next door
Gabby sat on stage, a Kleenex box beside her. Sharpay walked in from backstage, humming to a song on her i-pod. Seeing Gabby Sharpay started, "Oh, hey!" she cried."You rehearsing too?" Gabby glumly shook her head.
Sharpay sat bext to her and folded her legs criss-cross style. "What's perfect Gabriella all worked up about?"
Gabriella snorted,"Me perfect?" she laughed, "You're the perfect one." Sharpay frowned, "Don't I wish." she whispered.
I don't know why I'm feeling sorry for myself. I spend all my time wishing I was someone else. She is the prom queen I'm in the marching band She is a cheerleader I'm sitting in the stands.
Gabby stuck out her hand,"Compromise?" she asked her blonde foe.
I get a little bit, she gets a little more. She's Miss America and...She's Miss America I'm just the girl next door.
And I'm ust the girl next door.
Sharpay stared at the girl's hand. Shaking it she replied, "Deal, but I get to be better first."
