Just a random very short one-shot that came to me when I was watching Boosh episodes to get me over my writer's block. I'm not sure it's very good, but at least it's something!
Disclaimer: Not mine. Belongs to the incredibly sexy Julian Barratt and Noel Fielding.
Howard sat gazing at the moon, arm around the chimney for support. He looked round when he heard the skylight open and Vince appeared.
"Hey."
"Alright?" he climbed carefully across to where Howard was sat. He sat down next to him and rested his head on the older man's shoulder. Howard leant his head against him.
"Moon's quiet tonight." Howard commented.
"Yeah."
"You ok?" Howard asked, looking down at him.
"I'm fine." he smiled. "Really."
Howard put a hand to Vince's cheek and leant down, capturing his lips in a soft kiss. Vince sighed against him and returned it, wrapping his arms around Howard's neck.
"How come's you're up here?" Howard asked when he pulled away for air, smiling affectionately at Vince.
"Oh. Yeah, Naboo wants us in the shop."
"The shop? It's nearly ten o clock at night!"
Vince shrugged. "Apparently it's some sort of shaman holiday. He's expecting a lot of business. Don't see why he couldn't do it though."
"You're beautiful when you're annoyed."
Vince smiled, pleased. "Shut up!"
"You are though. Really beautiful. Especially in the moonlight."
Vince kissed him again. "You're a right romantic idiot sometimes Howard Moon."
"And you wouldn't have it any other way, sir!"
"No." Vince agreed softly. "I wouldn't."
Howard smiled. "Come on. We should be getting down."
"Yeah."
Howard kissed him again, and then clambered down to get off the roof.
Vince smiled at his retreating back and followed him through the skylight and down the stairs. He walked into the shop and found Howard already hunched over stationary village, re-arranging the paper clips.
"Does that really need another re-think?" he asked, placing his hand on Howard's lower back and peering at what he was doing. The older man jerked away from him.
"Don't touch me. And yes, it does." He shook his head. "Why are you over here anyway? You don't know anything about stationary. Shouldn't you be reading a magazine or doing your hair or something?"
Vince swallowed a lump in his throat. "Yeah. Whatever, Howard."
He settled himself down in the chair by the window and picked up the latest edition of Cheekbone, trying to concentrate on it.
It was now three months since Howard's birthday party, and their disastrous first kiss on the roof.
Three months.
Three months of stolen moments, of hidden kisses witnessed only by the moon and the stars.
"What goes on the roof, stays on the roof."
Vince just wished that for once what went on the roof could follow them back to the ground.
Might take it down. Dunno.
