(A/N: I was surprised at how little people recognized the significance of today. 9/11/06; the fifth year anniversary of the terrorist attack on The World Trade Center and The Twin Towers. Over three thousand people lost their lives that day. I wanted to write a tribute to those people and their families. If you are part of a family that lost a loved one that day, I wish you well, and my condolences.)

A Tragic Memory

"Today, we acknowledge the ending of a terrible war, and the ending of three of our most faithful student's lives. Hermione Jane Granger, Ronald Billius Weasley, and Harry James Potter all lost their lives two days ago. We saw fit that we shall have a moment of silence to honor their lives. Please, respect their memories and look back on all the times we shared." Professor Mcgonagal stopped speaking, her voice layered with emotion for the trio.

Ginny, who had not yet recovered from Harry, Ron, and Hermione's sudden death, looked into her lap, singing a soft song to Harry, her eyes welling with tears.

Sorry I never told you

All I wanted to say

And now it's too late to hold you

'Cause you've flown away

So far away

Never had I imagined

Living without your smile

Feeling and knowing you hear me

It keeps me alive

Alive

Chorus:

And I know you're shining down on me from heaven

Like so many friends we've lost along the way

And I know eventually we'll be together

One sweet day

Darling I never showed you

Assumed you'd always be there

I took your presence for granted

But I always cared

And I miss the love we shared

Chorus

Although the sun will never shine the same again

I'll always look to a brighter day

Lord I know when I lay me down to sleep

You will always listen as I pray

Chorus

Sorry I never told you

All I wanted to say

She remembered all of the wonderful times she had shared with him. She couldn't deny it, hide it, or flee from it; she fell in love with The Boy-Who-Lived, The Chosen One, Harry Potter, and he will never know…

Her tears were flowing thick and fast down her porcelain cheeks, her breath coming in separated sobs and hiccups.

Then, she heard it. A whisper of the wind, maybe, but it sounded like their voices, speaking in unison. "We're here, Ginny. We'll be with you." And a final, "I love you." From what she was positive was Harry's voice.

She wasn't sure, but she thought she saw a glint of a ghost in front of her. 'It was just a trick of the light,' she told herself, 'it couldn't have been Harry. No, he's dead, and he's not coming back.'

Little did she know that the trio were watching her from the heights of Heaven above, silently wishing her well. Hoping she would be able to get through this together and live the rest of her life the way it should have been lived when she was born; happily. They had, after all, destroyed the most evil wizard of all time before dying themselves.

(A/N: I'm actually quite happy with the way that turned out, having written it late at night. I've got a head-ach, and I have to get up early tomorrow, so I'll shalt go turn in for the lone, dreary night. My faithful reviewers, I pray that you review for me, telling me if you liked my tribute, telling me if you liked the story period. I once again say that I dedicate this chapter to all those families that lost loved ones five years ago. A special thanks to GreekChic for creating her own tribute. If it weren't for you, GreekChic, my stories probably wouldn't exist. Inspiration always sparks when I read a new one of your stories. Thanks once again.

Please review, not because it will make me happy, but because it will make you feel good inside!)
