Can We Keep This Secret?
A/N: Hey! This is my second attempt to write my first story over. I didn't really like how fast I had the story going and there weren't many details, so I decided to rewrite it over and make my first fanfic story the way I should've did it the first time. I hope you like it:).
Prologue.
Tori's Point of View
Beck's crisp, milk chocolate colored eyes bare holes into the depths of my soul the closer we get to each other. My heart rate speeds up, pounding heavily against my chest sending a thumping sound to my ears. This is all new to me. I've never felt all the emotions Beck caused me to feel as strongly and apparent as they are now. It's almost as if his deep emotion filled eyes are casting a heavy spell on me, covering me under an unbreakable trance. To be honest, I'm not even sure that I want to break it.
Beck leans closer towards me, filling me with the warm yet spicy scent of his cologne. His dark hair hangs around the curve if his cheek and acts as a thick, silky curtain that's covering us from the outside world. The only coherent thought that seems to be able to push its way through the muck I call a brain is the longing for him to speed up the process. It seems as if everything is moving in slow motion and taunting me endlessly. I want to feel his manly yet soft hands pressing up against my cheek, preparing me for a long, slow, and passionate kiss.
Just the thought of Beck pressing his soft lips against mine sends a shot of lust and passion down the center of my spine. His strong arms tightens around my waist as he pulls me closer to his sturdy body. The sound of his breathing even become more rugged and shallow as his chocolate eyes meet my deep brown ones. It could be just me, but I think a hint of want flashes across his face as I push my thick brunette hair over on my left shoulder and wrap my arms around his neck. His smooth hair brushes over my arms as I push myself closer to him, cutting out all distance. Our bodies wrap into each other as one.
I watch as Beck's eyes slowly close, his thick curly eyelashes softly resting against each other. I mimic what he does by closing my eyes also and waiting for his smooth lips to rest upon mine. His face comes closer and closer, so close until I can feel his cool and minty breath hovering against my lips. Soft trembles emerge through the pit of my body and resurface. I try to fight it and hold still, but the closer his lips get to mine, the more apparent the trembles become. I wish I could slap myself right now.
Beck comes closer and closer until his warm lips are pressing against mine. Everything becomes a blur and incoherent as the softness of his lips connect with the softness of mine. Our heads and bodies mold perfectly together. Finally the torment is over and I am where I want to be...inside of his arms with my tongue connecting with his.
"And scene!" Sikowitz claps his hands together ruining the moment that I've been waiting on for a while now. Beck pulls away first and untangles himself from our intertwined limbs. I could kill Sikowitz right now, "That wasn't so shabby for your first attempt at the scene. It was really intense. I liked it. You two can sit down now. Up next Jade and Blake, same spot and same passion filled scene."
Beck and I place the scripts on a desk Sikowitz brought in the class and walk down to our seats as Jade and Blake, one of the guys from the back of the class that barely talks, make their way to the front of the room. I sit in between Robbie and Andre. Jade automatically goes into her normal stance, a light scowl and crossed arms. Her jade colored eyes angrily zero in on me though it's not as violent as it was when I first kissed Beck. Back then I had did what I did out of pure malice. I wanted her to experience the same shock and pain I had felt when she poured steaming hot coffee on my head. We had both forgiven each other since then with an unspoken treaty. I guess that it's for the better to let the wound heal without being dissected and talked about.
"Which scene?" Jade asks breaking my thoughts. I don't even notice them making it up to the front of the room. She and Blake already picked up the scripts off of the table and now are standing in the same spot Beck and I just left.
"Same one Beck and Tori did. See if you can do it better than they did. Make me feel it in the depths of my blood filled veins!" Sikowitz crosses his right leg over his left, "But if you can't I understand. Those two are great actors."
"We got this." Jade flips to the page we just did and clears her throat, "Prepare to have your dirty socks blown away people." With that, she runs her fingers through her loose jet black hair and sighs.
"Romeo, start from 'If I'm profane with my unworthiness hand" Action!" Sikowitz claps his hands together, catching me off guard and causing me to jump. Andre shakes his head and chuckles causing me to elbow him in the gut. Playfully of course.
"I profane with my unworthiness hand. This holy shrine, the gentle fine is this: my lips, two blushing pilgrims, ready stand to smooth that rough touch with a tender kiss." Blake recites the words off of the page and steps little closer to Jade. His voice flows over the room gently yet it still holds power with the few words he just said. I'm impressed. Usually he just sits in the back of the class and shy away, but he's actually not that bad.
Jade bites her bottom lip and becomes the character Juliet, the same character I was. She steps back as if she is wary of his presence and cast her eyes down to the carpet.
"Good pilgrim, you do wrong your hand too much, which mannerly devotion shows in this; for saints have hands that pilgrims' hands do touch, and palm to palm is holy palmers' kiss."
Blake smiles, "Have not saints lips, and holy palmers too?"
"Ay, pilgrim, lips that they must use in prayer." My eyes rake over both Blake and Jade as they stare each other down in the front of the class. Every time Blake walks towards Jade, she backs up a little farther away from him. That was something that I didn't really do. Instead of backing away from Beck, I went towards him in hopes of making the scene a little more intimate. I guess Jade's way is good as well.
"O, then, dear saint, let lips do what hands do; they pray, grant thou, lest faith turn to despair." Blake states, interrupting my brief analysis.
"Saints do not move, though grant for prayers' sake."
This time when Blake moves closer to Jade, she stays in place. She pushes her dark hair out of her face and raises an eyebrow, a typical Jade move, "Then move not, while my prayer's effect I take. Thus from my lips, by yours, my sin is purged."
"Then have my lips the sin that they have took."
Blake moves closer to Jade and his body was merely inches from hers. Even though I just performed the same scene only minutes ago with Beck, I can feel the electricity in the room zap. My attention focuses in on the two in the front of the class. I'm almost on the edge of my seat waiting on what's to come next.
Blake wraps his arms around Jade's waist, though he still had the script in one hand, and pulls her closer to him, "Sin from thy lips? O trespass sweetly urged! Give me my sin again." As expected, the two lean in and kiss each other. My eyes quickly flicker to Beck who sits on the other side of Cat to see his reaction, but it is the same as everyone else's. I can feel the emotion from the stage escalate across the room even though I know it's fake. They did a nice job.
"And scene. Good job you two. Blake, finally you show us your ability!" Sikowitz exclaimes as we, the class, clap our hands. He stands up from his chair and takes the scripts from Jade and Blake as they walk back to their seats. "Good job those of you who tried out for the play. The two groups who performed as Romeo and Juliet both performed the scenes intensely. I like it. The other character parts were performed good as well. I'll have the results posted on the wall in the cafeteria at lunch time tomorrow."
Tomorrow? That'll be fast.
Robbie gently nudges me with his elbow, "What do you think are the chances of me getting the role of Benvolio? I didn't do that bad did I?"
I shrug my shoulders, "I thought you did great. Only three people auditioned for the part and one forgot his lines so I think you should be safe." Robbie offers me a small smile.
"I hope you're right. You and Beck were amazing out there, but unfortunately, you have a stiff competition."
My eyes roam over to where Beck and Jade sit cuddling in their chairs. They are smiling and laughing about something completely engrossed in each other's company. For some odd reason, butterflies enter my stomach and buzz around noisily. My chest feels as if it instantly gets heavy the moment I lay my eyes on the two. They look happy together, full of love. It's one of the rare moments when I actually see Jade smile and look legitimately happy.
I sigh, "Yeah, stiff competition." For some reason I have a feeling that my statement has a completely different meaning than Robbie's. However, I'm not so sure
A/N:And there you go! I hope it wasn't too bad. Big thanks to Victorious-FutureFictions for beta-ing this chapter for me. Without the help, I'd be a wreck. The play that the students are auditioning for is Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet. Anyway, I hope you liked it.
