Everything was decorated in a beautiful purple, white with a splash of green here and there. The sun shone high in the sky, yet the trees cast just enough shades as not to bother the other trolls who were all sitting happily in there respective seats in front of the gazebo. Flowers were scattered all over, but seemed to each be set in its perfect place.
This was the day, the day Kanaya had been waiting for: Her and Roses wedding day.
Rose had wanted a semi-traditional Human wedding, and Kanaya had liked it. Human weddings were gorgeous, and the dresses were always stunning. Everything was frills, sparkles, clean and wondrous. Kanaya stood in the gazebo, waiting for her future wife to walk down the isle.
The music started and Kanaya could not help but smile as rose appeared at the other end of the isle, stunning as ever. She was more beautiful then the sun, the moon, even space its self. Kanayas joy was so abundant, she could not find the correct words to express her emotions. But she new one thing: She was truly happy.
Kanays eye drifted open, revealing the wall of her room. It had only been a dream, well, more of a wonderful memory. Her and Roses wedding day, the best day of her life. A grin adored her face and she rolled over, excited to tell Rose of the wonder dream she had dreamt. Rose and her had spent many days fawning over that event, the one day where everything was perfect. She relaxed her eyes again and rolled over.
But as Kanaya fumbled around the other side of the bed, an sick feeling filled her gut. She opened her eyes again to see nothing but an empty space beside her. Frowning, Kanaya got up and went over to the mirror, her happiness lowering. Kanaya looked at herself in the mirror, trying not to let the tears fall down.
All she saw was an old, ageing troll, far older than any human could live to be, with a single tear rolling down her face.
