Chapter #1: THE PHONE CALL
Harry Potter is a wizard. Dudley Dursley is a muggle. Harry has his magical wand he could threaten Dudley with and Dudley had him Smelting's stick he could actually hit Harry with. Life at the Dursleys was nothing compared to greasy haired, long nosed professor Snape. The most loathed teacher Hogwarts (the school Harry attended) had ever seen. Harry's insides cringed as he thought about Hogwarts and his friends. Just thinking about his magical life made him miss even professor Snape. The phone rang and without even realizing what he was doing, Harry picked it up. "Hullo?" he said. "Hi is Harry there please?" Came an oddly familiar voice on the other end. "Hermione?!" Harry called. "Hullo Harry! I've been trying to get a hold of you all week with my new owl, Mesina. She mustn't have been able to get through again because you didn't return the owl." She said with suspicion. Harry, noting the suspicion in her voice quickly added, "The Dursley's boarded up all my windows so its impossible for anything to get in, or out." the last word fuming with sarcasm. "Oh." Hermione said with a feeling of satisfaction. "Anyways, getting back to why I called. My parents told me it would be ok if you came to stay with us for the remainder of the summer!" She finished with enthusiasm. "That's great Hermione!!" Harry said very excited. He lost the enthusiasm as he said, "I'm not sure if I'll be able to go or not. Give me a minute to ask the muggles." Harry got off the phone and waddled into the kitchen where Uncle Vernon was. "My friend is on the phone and she wants to know if I can go over to her house for the rest of the summer. So may I?" He asked politely. Vernon shot him a look of hatred but reluctantly said, "You can go as long as they come and pick you up the normal way. Not like them people last year!" He had made himself clear. "They won't. Her parents are like you." Harry told him. "Alright then, but tell her to get you at five o-clock sharp on Saturday. No earlier, no later!" Uncle Vernon yelled. "Yes Uncle Vernon." Harry smiled as he turned trying not to make it look like he was happy. The Dursley's always hated to see Harry happy. Harry walked back to the phone. "Hello?" He asked to see if Hermione was still there. "Yes?" She answered. "They said I can go as long as your parents pick me up the normal way, a car." Harry told her seriously. "That's how we were planning to get you. Did they say what time to get you?" She asked curiously. "The said you have to get me at five o-clock sharp on Saturday." "Sure, that can be done." Hermione said. "See you then, bye." "Bye." Harry hung up the phone. * * * Harry was bored as he waited patiently trying not to do the slightest thing wrong that would allow him not to go. Finally it was quarter to five on Saturday and Harry was all packed and ready to go. He had already brought his trunk outside and was sitting beside it on the porch. Ten minutes later a black car pulled up outside the house. Hermione jumped up and rushed over to Harry. "Harry!!" She called hugging him. Hermione's parents had gotten out of the car too and were heaving the trunk into the back of the car. "Harry, these are my parents." Hermione said gleefully. "Nice to met you." Harry smiled and they smiled back. Harry got in the car behind Hermione and they were off for her house.
