"Search the forest, search the houses, find her, leave no stone unturned. The master wants her back" the voiced yelled as the men search the village and the surrounding forest. The men continued to search well into the night and day break the next morning. Finally after hours of searching the men turned back to their horses, passing by the hiding place of the younger girl they so desperately searched for, her ebony hair and dark green cloak keeping her hidden within the dense forest undercover. If they were to look close enough the only thing that would give her away was her stormy blue eyes.
As the men reached their horses their leader turned back and yelled "You can't hide forever Kagome, we will find you and when we do find you and bring you back to the master you will regret this day, for it is the day you signed your death warrant by his hands." The man turned laughing maniacally turned back to his horse and rode off along the dusty road back to the dark place Kagome had just escaped.
Fearing their return Kagome continued to hide within the undercover of the forest until she was sure the soldiers were gone. After what seemed like several hours of tense silence she quietly crawled out the bush she was hiding in, her wounds screaming in protest to all the movement. With no further noise or sign of the soldiers from before she quickly set off towards the east making steady progress among the dense forest towards the sea.
Finally after several hours she made it to a small village sitting at the edge of the sea. In awe of the ocean Kagome stopped to see the sunset over it as it brought the ocean many colors and stole her breath away. Here she thought, Here is something free untamed by man of any kind youki or human. Here is freedom in its wildest form. Here will be my home.
