Hey guys, I'm back!
So, I'm going to try something new.
This is going to be the start of a series of short Eclare oneshots.
Some are going to be in this format, others not.
I don't know. It's something new and cute and I'm going to have fun with it.
I hope you enjoy it!
Love Always,
~Pho:)
You're Everything I Never Wanted
He disgusted her.
Everything about him was utterly repulsive.
His hair was too long. He wore far too much black. His nails were colored in with sharpie. He drove a hearse. He was arrogant. He was egotistical. He was snarky and full of himself. Clare hated it.
"Stop looking at me, Goldsworthy." She snapped at him. Her eyes never even left her paper.
"I'm not looking, I'm observing." He replied.
"Observe something else."
"Sorry to say, the decor doesn't really…suit me. Not that you're easy on the eyes, but you'll do."
Clare snapped up quickly, her blue eyes turning to ice, "Excuse me?"
His cupid's bow lips tugged at one corner. God, what I would give to smack that stupid smirk off of his face…
She could feel her face flush with heat as the blood rose. His eyebrows rose challengingly, just begging for a reaction. She realized this and wouldn't give him the satisfaction. She let out an audible hmph, straightened out her jean skirt, and sat back down.
"Don't get your crucifix in a twist there, Plath. It was a compliment." He said with a husky chuckle.
"You sure know the way to a girl's heart, don't you?" She asked. She threw her pen down onto the table crossing her legs and arms for effect. In response, he leaned back.
"It's working so far," He said nonchalantly.
"What does that mean?"
"You're cute when you're irritated. But loosen up."
"You can't follow a compliment with a critique, Elijah. It doesn't work that way."
He pressed his hand to his chest and inhaled deeply in mock horror, "My full name, Clare, now that really hurts." He rolled his eyes.
"Just shut up and read this." She tossed her paper to him.
He studied it for a few minutes. She noticed how his green eyes skimmed quickly across the paper. "Well?" She bit her lip, for some reason suddenly intimidated. He's my English part; he's here to help no hurt.
"It's…really good." He finally admitted.
"Really?"
"Yeah. You're a great writer. You know that, right?"
"I-I uh…well, yeah. It's just Miss Dawes said—"
"You need improvement. And compared to your gun control paper, this is improvement. Big time."
"Th-thanks."
Eli smirked again and handed her her paper back, "No problem. "
She hated him. His hair was too long. He wore far too much black. His nails were colored in with sharpie. He drove a hearse. He was arrogant. He was egotistical. He was snarky and full of himself. He was a cynical ass.
But she couldn't get enough of him.
So...what'd you think?
Short, but that was the point.
