Rain
Rain padded through the musty undergrowth, the brittle grass crunching under her blue-gray paws. The bare trees stared down at her, covered in snow. The sunset made the snow look red, like blood. It was like everything in the world was trying to remind her who her father was. She hated him! That's why she was going to try to join the clans. She figured the clan that had taken part more or less in her father's plan was more likely to let her join their clan. She stiffened as she scented the border marks. Her father had told her she would need to pass through ThunderClan territory in order to find the clan she was seeking. She padded on slowly, wary of the ThunderClan cats. She didn't want to meet Firestar! Her father had told her he had 9 lives! She yelped as a dark tabby pelt bowled her over. She silently cursed herself. She should've heard him coming. "I do not have intruders in our territory!" He hissed into her ear. She went limp, but he anticipated the trick and didn't loosen. She then turned onto her back, and raked his belly with her claws. He sprang off, snarled at Rain, and when he heard a yowl, ran into the undergrowth. She thought the ThunderClan cats would defend their territory more efficiently, but she didn't question it. She padded on through the trees, and suddenly the branches rustled.
She leaped back out of the way and the tabby cat she'd seen earlier landed right next to her, though on his paws. She cursed her father, and thought the tabby wouldn't notice but he did. His eyes widened. "Scourge?" He breathed. Suddenly his eyes were full of hatred and anger. He snarled and leaped at her. They fought, Rain not wanting any trouble, but having to defend herself. It felt like moons, but Rain finally pushed him off and shot past him, past the borderline, into ShadowClan territory. She raced through the pines, missing some trees by barely a whisker-length. The pine needles sprayed out behind her. She relaxed as she the familiar roar of a thunderpath. She raced on, but less urgent. When she arrived at the thunderpath, she pricked her ears, listening for a monster, but when she heard none, she raced across the thunderpath, the cold, hard stone feeling awkward beneath her paws. She slowed down to a trot as she crossed marshy land. As soon as she got more than a few pawsteps, a blue-gray shape hurtled toward her. She dodged and the cat skidded to a halt. "My name is Mistystar, leader of RiverClan. What are you doing in our territory?" She narrowed her blue eyes at Rain. "I am seeking to join your clan." Rain announced. "I am Rain, daughter of…" Should I tell her? Rain wondered. "Scourge."
