Sand.
Naruto felt it on his skin, through the holes in his gloves, and the cracks in his armor. But why? Why would he be feeling sand? He was, after all, supposed to be dead. With the fortress falling apart around them, there was no way he should still be alive. That the others should still be alive.
They were to die in battle against the dark one, as did the hero before them. He had been ready for death; they had been ready for it. If Naruto was still alive…had they failed?
No.
The gods wouldn't be so heartless to send them home failures. After all he'd gone through to get there, all he'd done for this world, for its people. He couldn't have lost.
If he did, then the world would have too.

A/N: I've been planning this out. This is just a little teaser, but it's really set after the main events of the story. I'm taking a few ideas and such from Romancing SaGa, and adding characters applied over my own plotline.

I'll wait a week or so, and depending how many votes I get, the story will follow the character you choose. Vote for who you want to be the main character and one person who will not be with the group at the end. If I don't get any votes Naruto will automatically become the main character and Gaara will not join the group. Keep in mind that whoever you kick out of the group won't not be in the story, they just won't with the rest at the end.
