For Which There was Tea
"Superior," Saix glanced up from his tea. "How close are we to finishing?"
Xemnas continued to stir the tea in front of him slowly, not looking up while speaking.
"Close, but Vexen is still working on the mixture," he said slowly and carefully, a slight tone of impatience mixed in.
Saix turned his head back down at his tea, deciding to take a small gulp. "Well, at least he makes superb tea. Do you believe it was worth the wait?"
Xemnas looked up a Saix to find he had just finished his tea.
"I suppose so," he said, pulling the small stirring spoon out of his own tea and tapping it quietly on the edge of the cup. He put it down and took a sip of the now luke warm drink. Content with it, he responded, "It's good."
In his lab, Vexen watched the steam rise off the liquid. He grumbled to himself, remembering the Superiors' request for "a new flavor".
"Why do they like this so much...?" he asked rhetorically.
Slowly the hot water changed to a deep, dark brown. Sitting up from his slumped position, Vexen pulled the cup off the hot plate and placed it on the counter.
He glared at the now dark liquid, pulling the small bag of leaves out and throwing it decidedly into the trash.
"Well, it's complete. Best tell the Superior." He stepped away, taking a glance back at the concoction, and his curiosity took over. Stepping back towards the counter, he cautiously took a small sniff, wafting the scent towards himself (as a good scientist should). He flinched back, wrinkling his nose and scoffing at the foul smell.
"Disgusting..."
He walked away to tell Saix and Xemnas their tea was ready.
