Thinking of You
As I think back,
To the words I said,
To the things I did,
To the way I destroyed you,
I hold back tears,
That threaten to fall,
As I lay here,
Thinking of you.
I wish I could take it back,
But what's said is said.
I wish I could say,
I didn't mean it,
And truly mean it.
I hate the way I ignored you,
Ignored your plea,
Ignored your love.
I left without a glance,
Blinded by selfishness.
Too proud to take my dreams,
From your hand.
Too scared you might see,
The terrified me.
Now I am still terrified.
Terrified that I will forget,
Terrified that I will remember.
As I lay here,
Blinking tears,
And thinking of you.
