(A/N: I'm super excited about the Next to Normal tour, even though it's not coming anywhere near me. Here's a HenNat to celebrate. Enjoy!)

Truth

Henry doesn't know why Natalie even bothers trying to lie to him. There's something he notices in her eyes when she lies—a tiny change in how fast she blinks, and how she won't look in his eyes but tries to make it seem like she does. It's something normal people who don't pay enough attention would never notice.

He knows she lies to him every time he asks how she is. He doesn't want the answer given to everyone she doesn't want to talk to. He wants the truth, or some kind of hint that tells him 'I want to talk to you.' It never happens.

He'll ask every day until she tells the truth. She can't keep her reality bottled up inside her forever—at least, he hopes she can't.

Henry longs for one day when he'll finally hear the truth. Now all he gets is a whispered, false, "I'm fine."
