Rei Ryugazaki walked silently along the sidewalk, his eyes straining as he stepped over every crack in the concrete. His hand absentmindedly rose to push his glasses up the bridge of his nose, but paused halfway up in realization. The blue-haired teenager accidentally forgot his glasses on his bedside table this morning; his mind had been too full of thoughts of a certain blonde-haired classmate. It'd been a miracle if Rei even matched with how out of reality he felt right then. A sigh fell out of his lips as he sped up a bit, narrowly missing the cracks in the sidewalk.
"Rei-chan!"
Rei flushed a deep red at the high-pitched sound of Nagisa Hazuki's voice. The taller of the two stayed silent, his head still down, as the other stopped in front of him happily. "Good morning, Rei-chan, how are y-ahh!"
The bubbly blonde's exclamation caused Rei to jerk his head up in surprise. A pair of magenta eyes stared at him in surprise, a hint of awe in his eyes as well. The butterfly swimmer felt his cheeks warm even more at the hint of a flush on Nagisa's nose.
"Ahh-Rei-chan..."
Rei found it difficult to respond to Nagisa, the blonde's amazed expression entirely too much for him to handle on his own; he knew exactly why he stared. Rei's hand rose and caught his tie, subconsciously tightening it further than before; finally, he spluttered out in a soft voice, "Forgot them at home." To prevent maximum embarrassment, Rei looked away from Nagisa, staring out at the road beside them and counting the cars as they pass.
The Ryugazaki glanced at Nagisa out of the corner of his eye. His teeth caught his bottom lip at the sight of the magenta-eyed beauty gaping at him, cheeks flushed. Rei turned his gaze fully back to Nagisa. Silence passed between the two for a few seconds before Nagisa uttered, "You're not wearing glasses today.
"Look, it's not like you haven't seen me this, we swim like twenty four-"
A hand outstretched and landed on Rei's nape, pulling him down, "-seven."
Rei's lips crashed hardly onto Nagisa's. A hint of cherry chapstick buzzed onto his taste buds. The taller teenager's mind exploded as he felt small hands grasp onto the strands of his hair. His entire body tingled. He felt his entire body slowly turn a deep red. Realization finally hit Rei and he pulled away.
"Don't do that again!"
Nagisa sparkled as he muttered, "don't forget your glasses anymore-" He hands slid down to rest on Rei's shoulders, grasping tightly... ultimately causing the other that much more of a heart attack. "-it makes you blind and off guard, just so you know, kid."
Rei felt his soul leave his body.
