GOOD TO GO

The sun had set on the programe and International Rescue were in demand again. Celebrations were in order, and Alan was keen to discuss all of the day's events with an interested Kayo, who had a lot to share herself.
"Did that hot-head GDF captain you were saddled with ever get his mits on a plane to help you go after Havoc?" Alan asked as he kicked back and hung upside down on the couch.
Kayo put both her feet up and laid back on the couch, her legs posistioned over Alan's chest acting as a makeshift 'pillow'
"Face facts Alan, who could ever hope to keep up with Thunderbird Shadow?" she asked
"With you, it does'nt matter how silly the question is, I get a straight answer with you" Alan replied.
"That wasn't an answer I replied with, it was a straight question" Kayo corrected him.
"Ok, no need to get nit picky" he said.
"You were a bit of a hero today yourself, keeping that space elevator afloat while the repairs were underway" Kayos said
Alan felt a warm buzz wash over his head, he could'nt tell if it was all the blood rushing up to him from leaning upside down or blushing at the compliment.
"Being the hero of the hour felt appropriate given all the setbacks I'd had that day" Alan replied.
"Really? What sort of setbacks?" asked a curious Kayo.
Virgil decided to butt in, having evesdropped as he prepared a light snack in the kitchen.
"John picked up a great deal of distress calls, and Alan was good to go for all of the space themed missions, until the took care of the problems" he added.
"Well, well, always ready to lend a hand, sometimes Alan your eager energy really touches me" complimented Kayo.
Alan knew the radiant red in his face definately wasn't blood at this point.
"Yeah, Alan was glad the day did'nt conclude with his embarrasing wardrobe malfunction earlier this afternoon" Virgil continued.
Alan gulped, this was something Kayo need not hear.
"Really? Tell me more" said Kayo.
Virgil took a shot of his can of cola and proceeded to tell Kayo, despite an embrassed Alan's protests, of an earlier instance where he was about to embark on a space mission and was half way through the process of changing when the red alert subsided, leaving him in a mish-mash of his IR outfit and his shorts.
Kayo fell to pieces laughing at the situation, Alan sprang up from his akward posistion ready to punush Virgil for the akwardness he was feeling now.
"Oh, I'm sorry Alan, I just find that unberably cute" Kayo said as Alan stormed towards Virgil.
"Yeah Alan relax, clothes don't make the man, manners do" Virgil joked.
"You'd best be departing in a timely manner, otherwise I'm going to clean your clock" snapped a forboding and red hot Alan.
"Now Alan, let's not pain the room exactly like your face is at the moment" said Virgil.
"You wanna talk about how good to go am I? We'll go right now" said Alan, poking Virgil in the chest.
"Let's not start a fight tonight Alan, after all, if you go at it right now, who's going to be good to go to the garden center to chow down on an egg mayo sandwich dessert?" Kayo suggested.
"Did you say egg mayo? I'm all in" said Alan excitedly.
"The 'least I can do to spare my hero of the hour from some emotional egg on his face" remarked Kayo, getting up from the sofa and luring Alan over to her with a finger.
"Good to go?" she asked.
Alan nodded with a dreamy expression.
Virgil laughed and shook his head, taking another shot of his drink.
